Got out to Lone Elk Park mid-morning today for the first time in several weeks. While the day was overcast, no rain until I reached the park then had light rain the entire time I was there. I was still able to get a few photos of three wild turkeys, including those below. These birds are difficult to find and even more difficult to photograph but they were fairly close this morning.
I was also able to get a photo of one of this year's bison calves. In an earlier post I had a photo of one of these calves the day they were born. They are still considerably smaller than even the yearlings and still have their light brown coats as opposed to the almost black coats of the adult bison.
Didn't see many of the park's elk herd (only two of the younger bulls). This bull was close enough for a few photos. The other was a bit further away and didn't offer any photo opportunities.
